Flowering time

Flowering time is an important agronomic trait, since the transition from vegetative growth to plant reproduction occurs at this stage. Timely flowering determines the possibility of ripening before the onset of adverse weather conditions. Many genes control the flowering time, and it remains unclear how these genes together determine the trait. However, using current methods of molecular biology, we can quantify the activity of flowering genes and describe the dynamics of this activity. We develop a mathematical model based on this data for reconstructing the interactions between flowering genes and deciphering the mechanisms of flowering.
